Singing Lessons for Professional, Semi-Professional & Apiring Professional Singers
Natalie Claire’s teaching studio in Engadine (Sydney-Sutherland Shire)
Vocal Specialist
Natalie is a lifelong learner of vocal pedagogy. Natalie will help you build on what’s natural, what’s working, identify where you need development and create pathways for building a voice powered by balance and healthy function.
Natalie’s goal is to train students to properly to access all colours of their voice in a healthy functional way. Advanced students can eventually develop the skills to cross-over and perform legitimately in various styles. Eg, sing a strong belt in a big musical theatre song, sing jazz or perform a classical aria. Natalie teaches her students what the vocal world may demand of them, and how they can maintain a healthy and long career.
Voice Rehabilitation
Natalie can work with you to re-train your technique and help you regain confidence in your voice after a vocal injury. Jo will work closely with your vocology team, speech pathologist or ENT to help you chart the best course forward and get you back gigging as soon as possible. Natalie has taught vocal technique for performance speaking (eg drama/public speaking/teachers suffering vocal fatigue). She has also had students with speech impediments who have needed vocal training to improve their lisp or stutter.
Song Writing
If you are looking to develop your song writing, Natalie can work with you to hone your lyric writing, harmonic development and style.
Career Development & Mentoring
The music industry can be tough to navigate, whether you’ve just started out or have years of experience. Natalie is an experienced professional performer who has a working knowledge of the music industry which is a great asset to her singing students.
To build a successful career in the music industry you not only need to hone your craft but you have to be your own booking agent, accountant, social media manager and marketing department.
It’s a lot to handle and can be overwhelming and confusing, which often leads to performers doing nothing at all and putting it off. In my sessions I focus on the end goal, creating a clear and achievable step-by-step path to your ultimate career.
The long term outcome is to provide musicians with the education and confidence to navigate their own careers, both now and in the future.
My experience mentoring students includes working with jazz, classical, music theatre, rock, heavy metal, rap, indie, song writers, session musicians and more. With plenty of years in the industry here in Australia I offer tips and guidance to singers and teachers wishing to make it professionally in the music industry.
Are these lessons for you? Define professional!
Whilst I would love to work with everyone, if you are just starting out on your singing journey then I am not the teacher for you. I am a busy performer and music agent which means my teaching time is very limited. The spaces that I do have are reserved for the following:
• Professional vocalists – working regularly or semi-regularly in a professional capacity i.e. gigs, live public performances, recording artists.
• Aspiring vocalists – vocalists who are studying to be a professional musician
• Professional voice users – actors, presenters, teachers who want to improve their vocal health through singing.
• Rehabilitation clients – if you have suffered a voice injury and your speech pathologist or health care professional has recommended singing lessons as a part of your rehabilitation.
